Review Snippet:

There’s a some fairly decent content inside Clickbank University. It’s well laid out, easy to follow, and will teach you all about using Clickbank itself.

But…does the training go deep enough to turn you into a high-level affiliate marketer?

  • Product creation lessons
  • Well laid-out

  • Locked lessons

Are you trying to find yourself some top quality affiliate marketing training?

Are you also wondering whether or not the training on offer at Clickbank University fits the bill for what you’re looking for?

I’ve been through the Clickbank University 2.0 training to the point where I now know it inside out and back-to-front.

If you want me to help you out with this tough decision…keep reading.

What Is Clickbank University 2.0?

Clickbank University is an training program originally created in 2013 by Justin Atlan, Adam Horwitz and Matt Hulett.

It’s primary purpose is to teach digital product creators/owners how to go about making their products available via the Clickbank Marketplace.

It’s secondary purpose is to teach affiliate marketers, who want to sell other people’s products online, how to succeed by selling products from the  Clickbank Marketplace.

Since 2013 the course has had a big upgrade to its current version.

As mentioned earlier, this course has been created by Clickbank, so the emphasis of this training program is on using the Clickbank Marketplace itself.

Here’s what the people at Clickbank University say about themselves…

We’ve worked hard to turn ClickBank University into one of the best training programs on the internet. Packed with step-by-step videos, interviews with experts, incredible tools, and fantastic support.

Clickbank University Team

Do they deliver on this? Is this training program really one of the best on the internet?

In my opinion…

…if we’re looking at the first section of the course, aimed at product creators/owners, then yes, I think the training is pretty good.

When it comes to the pure affiliate marketing training, aimed at people who want to learn how to sell other peoples products online, I think there are better training programs out there.

Selecting a viable niche and how to find the best products to promote within that niche;

Traffic and how building an email list is a great way to build your business for the future;

Building squeeze pages and offering content that’s of value to people who sign up to your email list;

Writing email copy, and setting up your email autoresponders.

Affiliates Section – What I Think

Becoming an affiliate marketer has the potential for easier earnings than going down the vendor route…

if you learn how to do it really well.

Will this section of the training teach you how to become a great affiliate marketer? I’m not sure it will.

The content is just too thin for my liking, and they only cover paid traffic sources…which is a great way to get yourself into serious bother as a total newbie affiliate marketer.

Section 3: Traffic

cbu2.0 traffic section introduction video screenshot

This is how the traffic section is put together:

Pt 1: Facebook Advertising

Pt 2: Facebook Advertising

Pt 3: Facebook Advertising

Pt 4: Instagram Shoutouts

Pt 5: Instagram Shoutouts

Pt 6: Instagram Shoutouts

A few different traffic sources are covered in this section of the course.

Instead of the weekly video lessons adopted so far, this section is covered via a webinars.

Each traffic source is presented by an expert in that particular area and each webinar is typically around 1 – 1.5 hours long.

You’ll notice that all of the traffic sources taught are paid traffic sources. I worry about this for anyone totally new to affiliate marketing.

When I first started out learning affiliate marketing the training I had was all about paid traffic sources.

What happened?..I got absolutely rinsed, every which way.

Section 4: Toolkit

This section is all about the tools you might want to use in getting yourself up and running:

1: Setting Up with GoDaddy

2: Creating with PowerPoint

3: Editing with Camtasia

4: Recording with Camtasia

5: Apowersoft Screen Recording

6: Design Banners with Canva

7: Funnels with CB Builder

8: Visual Website Optimizer

9: Conversions with Optimonk

10: Social Media and Hootsuite

11: Outsourcing with UpWork

12: Automating with Aweber

All online marketers use a range of tools for web design, optimisation, social media, outsourcing, etc, and the above is simply a few that are favoured by the Clickbank guys.

When you get to the stage of selecting the tools you’re going to use, have a good lock around to try and find what will suit you best in each area.

Bonus Training

In addition to all of the training outlined above, you also get access to the CBU Forum, and CBU Live Q&A Sessions.

CBU Forum

Like most forums, the Clickbank University Forum is a place where all members can get together and share info about what’s working well and what isn’t.

Not much more to say other than that really.

CBU Live Q&A

The live Q&A Sessions are pretty decent and well worth you getting online for.

If you can’t get on at the time of original broadcast, recordings are made available to members almost immediately.

Any Up-sells?

Yeah there is and they start hitting you with it early…for me it was before I’d even completed my course purchase.

And here they are for you:

clickbank university 2.0 upsells

This is the big up-sell:

Clickbank Builder 2.0

This is Clickbank’s own website builder developed to help you create websites, landing pages, offer pages etc.

It’s a fairly decent drag-and-drop builder but at the price they want I’d be expecting it to be the world’s best…which it isn’t.

This up-sell will set you back a chunky $594.

I find this way too pricey for a website builder.

I’m using an outstanding drag-and-drop page builder called Elementor which only cost me somewhere in the region of $50.

I would give this particular up-sell a miss if I were you.

What I Like About CBU 2.0

1. Vendors Section

I really think this section is very decent.

There’s not an awful lot of training out there for people looking to create and launch there own products.

You not only get lessons on product creation but also on how to bring your product to market through using affiliate marketers via Clickbank.

2. Created by Clickbank for Clickbank

Well, if you really want to know how to use Clickbank, you could do a whole lot worse than signing up to the training course built band presented by Clickbank.

3. Community

I’m usually unimpressed with the online communities of online courses, but I thought this one was decent. Questions get answered in a reasonable timeframe and experienced members help out less those with less experience.

What I Don’t Like About CBU 2.0

1. Locked Training Modules

I know that their thinking is that by locking the training you keep people learning in bite sized chunks and thereby help stop overload and confusion.

But come on, the first week of the affiliate section is a total of 18 minutes training.

This is a bit ridiculous, anyone would think it was a real university!

You can get through weeks 1 to 3 without restriction but if you want to carry without waiting a week at a time, you’ll need to send them an email to request that the other weeks are unlocked.

2. Only Paid Traffic Sources are Covered

I know, I know, I’ve heard it all before on affiliate marketing training courses…

…”it’s the quickest way to get results”

I’ll tell you what else it’s the quickest way to do if you’re a newbie…

…get rid of a couple of thousand bucks!

3. Affiliate Section Not Deep Enough

You can get through the whole lot in a shade under three hours.

Not enough detail, not enough real life examples, a little bit outdated.

4. It Ain’t Quite as Easy as They’d Like You to Believe

The course does make it all seem a bit too easy, in my opinion.

Creating and developing your own e-product is not easy, and Affiliate marketing is not easy.

Clickbank University 2.0 – Wrapping It Up

ClickBank University 2.0 is okay…and that’s about the highest praise I can give it really.

While they have increased the affiliate marketing content since the first version of the course, it is still primarily a course for people who want to launch their own digital product via the Clickbank Marketplace.

If you fall into that group of people, and you’re serious about launching your own product on Clickbank, you could do worse than join up to CBU 2.0.

On the other hand, if you’re an aspiring affiliate marketer, looking to market the products and services of others online, the training on offer here is a bit limited and quite out-dated.

There Are Better Affiliate Training Programs Out There!

There aren’t that many, but there are a few.

Both of the programs below will teach you their tried and tested steps of how to build and grow successful affiliate sites.

Authority Hacker: Authority Hacker’s The Authority Site System is bang up to date affiliate training with a focus on niche selection, building out new authority sites, content creation and building layers of traffic sources.

The goal of The Authority Site System is to get you to a point where your authority site is earning you in the region of $2k to $10k per month…what they refer to as a “Stage 1 Authority Site”.

Once you’re making that kind of monthly income, you can level up to their flagship program: Authority Hacker Pro.

Affiliate Lab: SEO legend Matt Diggity’s outstanding training program is of rare quality and focused on getting you the results you want as quickly as possible.

This course is packed to the rafters with cutting-edge affiliate training that you won’t find elsewhere.
